  • “Generally I love Tiffin Wallah - they're one of my favorite lunchtime spots to visit for the excellent buffet, and the packaged to-go version is also fantastic - a salad, dessert, bread, appetizer and two types of curries with rice. There's always plenty of food, it's fresh, hot, and delicious - and tends to arrive pretty quickly. My only problem this time was the lack of attention to my instructions - I specifically asked for only one type of curry (I called the restaurant to ask what was available) and instead was given both kinds, one of which I wouldn't eat. ”

  • “Tiffin Wallah has soared to the top of the Curry Hill delivery heap with the combination of great vegetarian Indian fare and pretty good delivery experiences. I give their Utthapam's (my favorite being the chili-tomato-garlic accompanied with coconut chutney and spicy earthy rasam) best-in-the-area marks. Ditto for many of the curries, such as the Kala Chana, Aloo Baingan, Whole Moong, and Palak Paneer. Very good appetizers and breads bring a true vegetarian Indian feast to your door. And don't forget to try the weekend specials! Delivery can take a while, but I have foiund their estimates to be fairly accurate.”

  • “I had placed an order for the lunch special through seamless. I received a call from Tiffinwallah shortly after, where the person who called me starts the conversation by asking me in a very rude manner "what time is it?". I was confused and the person again repeated that question to me. He then proceeded to tell me that it was 5 o' clock and that I should not be ordering the lunch buffet at that time. He was so condescending and rude. It was absolutely ridiculous! My first issue is that they should clearly indicated on Seamless that certain items are only available during certain hours. My second issue is that instead of handling the situation with grace, the person at Tiffinwallah called me to chew me out for placing the order after hours. This was my favorite south Indian restaurant and I have been eating here for years. I will not be ordering from here again. Truly disappointing.”

  • “Incredible dosas, just as good as homemade with none of the hassle - highly recommended!. The coconut chutney that comes with the dosas is a little odd - I suggest ordering the dosa podi instead. It's spicy, but not uncomfortably so. One dosa lasts me for at least 2 meals, which makes this place an excellent value as well. Furthermore, delivery is always prompt and friendly. This place can't get any better.”

  • “I love everything on the menu here because it's simple and delicious. I love the dosas and idli here because the chutney and sambar is perfect. In all, it is an authentic experience for southindian food and truly delivers on all the "tiffin" items.”

  • “This used to be my favorite restaurant, but the delivery service is terrible. I had placed an order for an item that was listed on the menu here in Seamless. However, the restaurant calls me to tell me that the item is only available during certain hours (why list it on seamless for the whole day??). The person that I spoke with was rude and unable to cancel the order. I had to send an email to the Seamless help desk to get it resolved.”

  • “ I recently placed an Tiffin Wallah restaurant and was extremely unhappy. I placed a future order at 6:13pm for 8:15pm. I then received a text at 6:45 that my delivery was on the way. Confused, I called the restaurant and the owner argued with me at length until he agreed to have the order delivered at 6:45. Even so, the delivery man came to my door and was extremely rude when I told him the order was wrong. The restaurant called me once again, and then we had another frustrating exchange over the timing, until he finally agreed it seemed to deliver my food at 8:15pm. When the food finally arrived at 8:15pm, it was cold and stale. Obviously they had send the same food the second time. I called them and the owner was rude again, and disrespectful..Please forgo this experience and not order from this restaurant. Pay a few dollars more at another indian restaurant, and get twice the quality of food that is miles healthier, flavorful and more importantly, not cold and stale. ”
