  • “Love this place!”

  • “More expensive than your usual Indian food but the quality is better. Each of the Lunch boxes comes with Dal, pickled veggies, rice, chapati, and the main entree. This really makes sense to me since that's the usual way to eat any Indian meal. The food is more authentic since it is spicier and the sauces are thicker. The only thing is if you like a lot of meat, then the lunch boxes are not a good deal for you. ”

  • “This is my 3rd review for Masala Times - I order from here once a week so it seems right to update my review once in a while. First, they are lovely people, always so nice and helpful if you ever happen to order by phone and the delivery guys are GREAT. Secondly, the food is AMAZING... Get the potato roll and enjoy its dreamy-spicy-mashed-potato-goodness: douse it liberally with the green chutney if you like it hot and you will not regret it! Get the chicken tikka and drool over how tender and perfectly juicy and tasty it is. Get the paneer tikka roll and marvel at how much zing this humble cheese brings to your happy mouth. My only caution: try not to cry when you think of the chicken seekh kebab - mysteriously disappeared from the menu - which was ambrosial. Sigh. In case it's not yet crystal clear, this place makes me very, very happy.”

  • “We ordered the lamb vindaloo box and it was INEDIBLY hot. My sister and I are people who love spicy food and realize vindaloo should be spicy, but this dish was hot enough to give you chemical burns. No joke. We could not eat the food and I suffered really badly from trying a bite. We aren't sure if the chef was drunk, playing a practical joke on us, or if our order got mixed up with something from Man vs Food ... but we'll NEVER EVER try this place again.”

  • “I don't think I've noticed the delivery time. The food is always excellent and tastes fresh, well seasoned and lots of flavor. The one issue I had with my order being mixed up was fixed in a prompt manner. If you want good Indian food this is the place to order from. ”

  • “Heat level is totally unpredictable. Sometimes bland, sometimes burn-your-mouth spicy. Another star off for cold food/slow delivery. Used to love this place. Get it together, guys.”

  • “The food is ok, not great, but the delivery and attitude is horrible. Said 30-45 minutes and I called them 1 hour 15 minutes after my order and the guy says the guy's on his way. When I asked him why it's so late, he just got annoyed and berated me for asking...no explanation or apology. Ok, they obviously know nothing about basic customer service. Won't be ordering from them again.”

  • “This place sucks! The 2 decent dishes on their menu don't make up for their lack of organization and customer service. I order 1 dish for delivery at 6pm, which I wouldn't consider an overly busy time for dinner. The delivery estimate is 30-45 mins. An hour later, no sign of delivery. I called to inquire and was casually told that the food was sitting there but no delivery guy so they would send it out whenever he returned! No apology whatsoever. They expect me to wait another 30 mins at least for 1 dish, which is going to be stale and cold by the time it arrives!! What's worse is that guy didn't think anything of it!! Monkeys could run a better business. No thanks! This place is not worth it in the least! I'm Indian and have plenty of other (better) choices for indian good delivery!!”

  • “THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT OF ALL TIME. Granted, it is not for the faint of heart. If you can't do spicy (and I mean really spicy), tell them to tone down the heat. Otherwise, for people like me who love authentic Indian food with a wallop of spice for a decent price, this is the best place in town. I love you, Masala Times!”

  • “I really like the food. I find it hard to find good indian in manhattan--this is good and a good price. I love the vinadaloo, but if you don't like REAL spice, you should not order. Delivery usually fast, but the guy on the phone can be TOTALLY CLUELESS. I had to hang up and use the web to order.”

  • “I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. The color was dark red and it looked like no cream was added. It was so spicy that I could barely eat it - it seriously needed to have a disclaimer. I've had a lot of tikka masala in my day, and this was by no means traditional, or close to anything I've had before. Not too happy about this order... FWIW, the food quality was fine. Preparation was terrible, however.”

  • “I like the food, I think it's reasonably priced, but I almost always have had a problem with the delivery. It's too slow, or they call you up after an hour and say "Oh, we don't have that item." One time, they replaced an item they didn't have with another one of the same price without even telling me. Another time, they simply didn't show up at all. I keep hoping they've just had an off night, but they apparently have a lot of these.”

  • “Great Rolls but its hit or miss if they are open or closed. Just ordered from them. Conf email says 30-45 mins. Lets say its 45. I ordered at 12:09PM its now 1:36PM and 85 minutes later nothing yet. I called they said the food is ready but delivery guy is out. The I said fine make sure the Green hot sauce or chuney is included. Guy on the phone said we have one left and I got it. Seriously??? Charge for extra ones if you dont want to give it out. I'll pay- makes the food taste much better to me that it already is. MY ADVICE: If you want to oder here fo lunch, place the order at 11AM or sooner. If youre hungry and cant wait 2 hours for your food - dont bother.”

  • “I've learned my lesson... The food is ok, but the customer service is terrible. Over an hour and a half and I still haven't received my order. They didn't answer their phone on 4 attempts and when they did, they said it was 2 minutes away. That was 15 minutes ago. Unacceptable. There is too much business in town for this kind of service. ”

  • “Masala Times I love you, but you're bringing me down. Your food is still great, but two hours for a lunch special is no longer a lunch special... it's a lunch BETRAYAL. We've ordered from you every almost every Tuesday for almost a year now... originally you were my go-to because you were cheap, super spicy, had an awesome lunch special with the best daal around, and you delivered in like 15 minutes! It was like my Bollywood dreams come true. However your delivery time since has only gotten worse and worse... now I find myself waiting, at minimum, an hour if not an hour and a half for you to get the food out and walk the 5 minutes to my office. The food is 5 stars but the delivery is like negative one. We find ourselves straying with other- *GASP* - Indian restaurants because of the ridiculous wait. It's heart breaking! What happened, Masala Times? I weep nightly for the love we once shared...”

I called them, they were very nice and I got the right order delivered to my apartment in about 20 minutes. I also got to keep the first order, which was nice.”
