- Design, implement and test technology solutions at GrubHub.com
- Create technology solutions to intelligently solve problems for GrubHub.com consumers and restaurants
- Create technology solutions to improve quality and efficiency of operations within GrubHub.com
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to create technical solutions to business problems. (as opposed to being handed a spec)
- Actively contribute to the adoption of software architecture, best practices, and technologies
- Accurately estimate the timing of software
- For larger projects, take a lead role in product definition and project planning
- Become a member of our elite cadre of software
- Understand the role of technology and each product within the larger context of the business

Job Requirements
- Full time office position in Chicago, IL
- Masterful understanding of Java. At least 4 years of Java experience developing internet based applications.
- Must have experience in all aspects of software development. Definition, Design, development, rollout and testing.
- Masterful understanding of unit testing, version control, front end integration
- Experience with mobile technologies is a plus. Apple and Android platforms are a bigger plus.
- Willingness to understand larger business context

- College Degree in Computer related field ? Masters degree?s a plus.

GrubHub is seeking a full-time Controller to provide hands-on accounting and support to our Company. This person will be a strong contributor and leader for day to day accounting operations, will help set policies, design and implement accounting processes, and improve procedures and internal controls. While this position will report to and work closely with the VP of Finance, the Controller will work across the organization, interacting heavily with the other functional areas of the business including technology, marketing, customer service, and operations.
Job Description
- CPA required
- Undergraduate degree (B.S. or equivalent) in Accounting from an accredited college or Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP required
- Proficient in internal controls design, testing and documentation
- Experience with federal, state, and local tax reporting and filing is required
- Knowledge and experience with Quick Books is required
- Experience with Accounting software needs analysis and selection is a plus
- Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC reporting is a plus
- Experience in high-tech, fast growth start-ups is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail, follow up skills and focus on quality
- Strong computer skills in MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Ability to confidently communicate at all levels of the Company
Job Requirements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Maintenance of GL and supporting records
- Design and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard the company?s assets
- Ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with company guidelines
- Oversee various compliance reporting requirements (bank, financial, & third party audits)
- Prepare and maintain records needed for the company's federal, multistate and municipal tax returns
- Ensure all accounting entries are timely, accurate, and comply with accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. (knowledge of IFRS is a plus)
- Oversee the monthly close process and ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled, reviewed, and have appropriate supporting documentation
- Ensure audits of Company financial information by external auditors occur efficiently and that proposed accounting adjustments are resolved
- Identify staffing needs and ensure the development of accounting team staff
