  • “Have ordered and dined in - best Indian food in UES, but definitely pricy. That being said, in the 5 or so times I've ordered shrimp dishes, they have over-cooked them every time.”

  • “I am deligthed that finally a good Indian restaurant is catering to Upper East Side crowd. I never give reviews on Seamless. I am making an exception here because I want Brick Lane to succeed so that we can have high quality Indian cuisine in our neighborhood. If they reduce their quality standards and the food turns out like all the other crappy Indian food in the area, then I will immediately change my rating to 1 star. So keep it up guys!”

  • “A little expensive, but worth it. Everything is as artfully presented as possible with delivery. The vegetable samosas came with an interesting salad garnish, spicy chutney, and were served on a plantain leaf! The Bombay Aloo seemed to come with a couple of mini-desserts that were very delicious and may solve the mystery of why there isn't a dessert section on the menu. Everything has a complexity of flavour, that while expected in Indian food, isn't always to be found.”

  • “Placed an order. Got a confirmation e-mail about 15 minutes later. Over an hour after that, when there was no delivery, I called the restaurant and was told they'd never received the order. I called Seamless and was told that the confirmation e-mail was sent after the restaurant entered a code to confirm receipt of the order. In the end, I got no food, the money has yet to be refunded, and I spent a rather hungry hour sitting around and waiting for a meal that was never coming. This was a complete and total fail on the part of both Seamless and the restaurant.”

  • “Really quality Indian, but SO expensive. I don't mind paying $20 for curry, but $5 for one piece of Naan or Roti? That I don't understand.”

  • “Loved, loved what I ordered. It was delicious. The Lassuni Gobi was delicious. It's the first time I had it and it is both savory and sweet at the same time. I also ordered the Tikka Masala with vegetables (instead of meat) and it was really good. I wish there were more veggies... there was only a scattering.. but it was still really yummy. They did not give naan with my order though. I guess thats a side dish you have to order. Overall, I am very happy with my dinner. ”

  • “Is there a way to give this place zero stars? I feel like it's a fair review given that I didn't get the food I paid for. Never ordering from this place again. They gave me someone else's order and when I called their restaurant to let them know--they put me on hold for 5 minutes when a woman tells me she's only handling deliveries and HANGS UP ON ME. I call a second time and they HANG UP ON ME AGAIN. Finally I speak to this man who talked to me like it was my own fault that they f*cked up. Never had an experience like that before--what a disaster. Great way to ruin a night. ”

  • “Sometimes the food is excellent, other times it is mediocre, especially on Sunday's (maybe they have a different chef). I've had a number of very tasty meals at the restaurant but just ordered a take out which was terrible (Lamb Balti) - hence the 2 stars”

  • “We have always had above average Indian food for New York, at this oasis of good ethnic food in NYC. But this order was not good. Samosas, naan and kulcha under-cooked- heavy, lamb very fatty. Bummer from such a reliable place. It seems there seems there are no reliable ethnic places left on the UES.”

  • “The food was mediocre and extremely overpriced. The pakoras were squishy - not crispy like a fritter should be. The naan was a bit tasteless. The channa dish wasn't at all impressive -- it had sweet tones that I found distracting. I'd really prefer a good old fashioned Channa Masala. The veggie curry was the best thing I ordered, but still not worth the price. Do yourself a favor and order something better for cheaper. ”

  • “Decent curry, but very, very late. Website promised delivery in 30-45mins, it took 90mins. Obviously if we'd know that we'd have gone elsewhere. Dishonest or incompetent, it doesn't matter, totally ruined the enjoyment. Won't be reordering.”

  • “Easily the best Indian in the area. That goes for the one downtown as well. The one downtown has slightly more choice / you can choose how spicy you want your dish but that's minor. Definitely worth the extra money / longer delivery times (not that I've experienced the latter). Have tried about 5 different dishes and they were all excellent. Sauces / condiments also top notch.”

  • “I have been walking by this Brick Lane location every day since the sign first went up waiting for it to open. I used to live near the midtown location. Everything is spot on delicious and the same as the other location. My favorite curries are Bhuna and Madras - they are both divine, their nan is the best of other Indian restaurants in the area (might not seem like a big deal but when it goes from good to great.. it's noticeable!). Their prices are a bit higher than other Indian in the area but the quality is amazing, very authentic tasting and worth it!”

  • “Absolutely horrible. I'm not sure why food is so bad in UES, but I'm also not sure why I keep trying. The naan is industrial at best. The dishes are basically pools of sauce with large, chewy pieces of meat. And the flavors are just off. Not sure who this is for, but it's not for me.”
