I ordered the Hot and Sour soup per the other review. I was not impressed. The soup was bland, and the included pork in the soup had loads of fat with little actual meat. I also ordered the deep fried flounder and salt and pepper pork. The flounder was solid and the the pork was merely average. I did not have a horrible experience but because Chinese fast food delivery is so plentiful near my area, I am not particularly inclined to order from yet another average restaurant.

Big Lantern Dim Sum

I didn't verify that Big Lantern doesn't use MSG before ordering. It sure tasted like they did. The salt & pepper pork was probably 1/20 pork, the rest MSG laden pork fat. The mu shu pork came with flour tortillas that all stuck together and all in all just wasn't so good.

I love Dim Sum and ordered both the appetizer combo plate and the 6pc Dim Sum mix. Next time, I will order the 12 piece. They were all different items, and all items were well-stuffed and delicious. The Hot and Sour soup was really good and hardy.

Gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the potstickers were very good. Otherwise, the food here is less than ideal - some of it actually unappetizing.
Add to this that it took 80+ minutes to get a pretty simple order to me. They said it'd take that long, but only after I ordered... And they're about 10 blocks from my house.
All in all, a subpar experience. Look elsewhere.

fast delivery, food delivered hot with generous portions. However, food quality was lacking compared to the many other asian delivery choices that exist in SF. That said I still will order from them again knowing what to expect.

food was terrible. general tsao and pork buns were ok. beef broccoli and spicy shredded pork tasted so bad i had to throw them away. and in case you're wondering, i am usually pretty easy to please. this place sucked and i will never order from there again.

dim sum was horrible. i have had better stuff from the frozen section of may wah and ranch 99! they also forgot my ice cream, and the lady who took my call was flippant in her response. sauces were OVERLOADED WITH CORNSTARCH -- a sign of bad cantonese cooking! not as gross as that travesty called china house, but not as good as andy's, which is very, very mediocre. definitely one of the things i miss about the richmond district: proper chinese food!!

This place is fantastic for the price and variety. The dim sum is seriously some of the best that I have had on Clement Street, I feel that it beats out other "to go" dim sum eateries. Bomb! You can feast for ten bucks!

The food is subpar, it's too greasy to really enjoy. It came fast and it wa pretty cheap, but the combo fried rice smelled really fisy like something hadn't been washed in a while. We also ordered the 'general's chicken' and it tasted like it had been cooked the night before, the breaded part was too soggy to be fresh.....

Food arrived lukewarm after 75 minutes. Driver smelled strongly of tobacco and so did the boxes the food was in. Food greasy, heavy and unpleasant. Never again.

Every time I order their food, I don't feel so well. It's very oily and, in my opinion, poorly prepared. On the flip side, I love the people that work there and want to support a small neighborhood spot. Let's just say that I don't go there for the food.
