Order placed on 8.27.09.Our first time ordering here and we thought it was great - I am Chinese and I would say it's the best Chinese take-out place that delivers to our apartment. I love that the food is prepared without any MSG and it was not greasy. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken and Hot and Sour soup. The chicken was mostly chicken breast (not that mysterious stuff that you sometimes get) and the veggies were fresh and crisp. It also included slices of jalapenos, which I thought was the perfect touch. We had no problems with the delivery guy and the food came before our estimated time (but we did order late at night, ~9:30pm). We will definitely order from here again!!!

Order placed on 5.9.09.I ordered the Hot and Sour soup per the other review. I was not impressed. The soup was bland, and the included pork in the soup had loads of fat with little actual meat. I also ordered the deep fried flounder and salt and pepper pork. The flounder was solid and the the pork was merely average. I did not have a horrible experience but because Chinese fast food delivery is so plentiful near my area, I am not particularly inclined to order from yet another average restaurant.

Order placed on 11.13.08.Tastewise, Tsing Tao is typical Chinese fast food delivery. The General Tsao's chicken was bland; it lacked life and flavor (I should have listened to the review below) . The chicken fried rice had a bit too much oil in it--I felt it could have used a bit more time on the wok. Furthermore, due to my severe dehydration the following day, I am fairly certain they used a good amount of MSG. However, my food was delivered in 19 minutes, a record I doubt can ever be topped by another restaurant. Customer service was great as pointed out--they ran out of root beer and politely asked me to choose an alternative. The food arrived piping hot and in generous portions for the price. Nothing wrong with that.

Order placed on 5.15.09.I normally don't review restaurants on this site, as they are really quite tasty. However, this was by far the worst meal I have had on this site. The chicken was stringy and terribly pink and undercooked. The fried wontons were merely crushed fried pieces with nothing inside and the "free eggroll with a $15 purchase or more" was nowhere to be found. My stomach still hurts from the meal and I'm contemplating on calling the restaurant for some sort of refund. It was a really awful and sad meal that was not tasty and dreadfully undercooked.

I didn't verify that Big Lantern doesn't use MSG before ordering. It sure tasted like they did. The salt & pepper pork was probably 1/20 pork, the rest MSG laden pork fat. The mu shu pork came with flour tortillas that all stuck together and all in all just wasn't so good.

Order placed on 8.2.08.I love Dim Sum and ordered both the appetizer combo plate and the 6pc Dim Sum mix. Next time, I will order the 12 piece. They were all different items, and all items were well-stuffed and delicious. The Hot and Sour soup was really good and hardy.

Order placed on 10.11.09.Tao Yin is my favorite delivery place. So why not 5 stars? The problem is, half the stuff on their menu is terrible. I've disliked most of the dinner-meal-type-stuff, and their unagi-don is the worst I've had in my life. But the chow mein is amazing. As is everything I've tried in the "chow" section of the menu. How about the sushi? I think this is actually a great place to order sushi if you keep it *really simple*. Tekka maki. Ikura. Get things that are really hard to mess up, and you'll get great value for your money. If you try to have an all-out sushi dinner, you'll probably realize that this is *not* a fancy sushi place, but again, the simple stuff is quite alright, and affordable. I get a bunch of ikura every time I order, because I love ikura, and can't tell the difference with places like Mikado and Sumi, who charge significantly more. Their chow mein makes for great leftovers. I'm eating it now. This is really good stuff, folks.

Singapore Rice Noodles delicious. Salt and Pepper Pork horrible-terrible quality meat and flavor. Basil Beef was somewhat edible but far from good. Delivery 1.25 hours. Did not tell me there would be an additional $3 delivery charge but charged me without my authorization anyway.

Order placed on 3.23.09.Really good, interesting flavors and very friendly delivery service. This was my first time to order and the food showed up a little cold. I feel sure that once I order again, this won't be an issue. It sure would be nice if they offered a freebie (rice, soup, noodles) for orders over a certain amount.

Order placed on 12.9.07.I tend to not write reviews, but after tasting the food here I feel compelled. It was terrible and inedible. I actually threw most of it away. The only decent thing that I ate was the fried rice. I ordered shrimp with pine nuts and there wasn't ONE pine nut in the entire dish. But more importantly, there was NO flavor. The chow mein tasted old and stale.
