The food at Silver Seafood is outstanding, and it has been rated as one of Chicago's best Chinese restauarants. As a takeout place, although I have found the food to always be excellent, the delivery can be inconsistent. One time I was given a 45 minute delivery time and the food didn't arrive until over an hour and a half later. The most recent delivery experience was a good one with again a 45 minute promise, but the food arrived within 1/2 an hour. Some of my favorites are the chicken sweet corn soup, and the pineapple seafood combination rice. I have never encountered any of the language problems mentioned below. Overall, because you're getting the best Chinese food there is on the north side, I am willing to tolerate sometimes inconsistent service and highly recommend them.

Saw the review of this restaurant on Check Please so decided to try it. I ordered two entrees that were supposed to be HOT. My food was promised to be delivered in 45 mins but arrived 2 hours later. I ended up throwing $26.00 worth of food out because it was tasteless. Have talked with others that have dined in and am told it is a dirty restaurant and the food is awful. They need someone who speaks English to take the orders and the complaints.

The food is supposed to be really good here. I wouldnt know because I never got around to ordering. The lady didnt speak a lick of english. When i gave her my phone number for delivery she couldnt comprehend and thought i was ordering off the menu via the numbers (each item on the menu has a corresponding number to order by). After ten minutes of trying to order i hung up the phone in frustration.
