Poochies is da bomb for traditional American fast food. Though famous for Chicago style dogs (which they do impeccably) I think the star of the show is their 1/3 lb. char-cheddar burger. It is so delicious, you needn't add anything... though Poochies sweet, slowly grilled onions might be a nice choice. The cheddar is like Wisconsin spreadable style, melts very well. Their handcut fries are also awesome, though not so much when delivered. The other stand-out item is their grilled salami sandwich on French bread, which tastes like Best Kosher or some other quality brand. Finally, they have excellent milkshakes, and they sell GREEN RIVER! Basically, for this "cuisine," they are best in class. Being on the same street as Herm's Palace and the Weiner and Still Champion, one must say Dempster is a real mecca for the dog-and-burger devotee.
