For this type of pizza, i.e. "deep dish", there really is no alternative in this town. It is so dough-rich, it's tough to eat more than a slice or two. It's heavy, extra toppings are expensive, and delivery times are long, meaning the pizza is moving quickly away from "hot" by the time you get it. Still, it's a great pie.

I hadn't been to Uno for awhile, but I loved it when I dined in the restaurant a few times when I first moved downtown several years ago. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with my delivery yesterday -- the pizza was only luke-warm and it was not at all good. The crust was hard and chewy, and the pizza did not taste good. I'm not a fan of the sausage patty that covers the entire pizza (as done by several restaurants), and that's what this had. I ordered the Uno Special, and it seems like their standard pizza could be much, much better. I was really disappointed and it was way too expensive for what I received. I paid quite a premium for delivery + tip, and what I got was a cold, disgusting pizza. And I know it was Saturday night, but it took almost 2 hours to get my delivery, and that made the whole thing that much worse.

Delivery took over an hour and a half. The pizza was great, but was not hot when it arrived and was slightly burnt.
