I think Osteria Via Stato is extremely underated. The food is always fresh and very high quality, beautifully seasoned and prepared. Highly recommended is the Chicken Mario and the Calabrian potatoes. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and one of the best Italians. So many Italian restaurants fall in to the trap of just preparing high carb stodge, Osteria Via Stato raises the bar.
