    As nice Italian restaurants go, I have had better. Much better, in fact. But they are the only game in town, or at least Hyde Park. They are also just about the only place to take a girl on a date in Hyde Park, which generally is not a major concern for U of C students!

    My wife really loves Pizza Capri, especially their salad. So, we would order from this place with some frequency when we lived in Hyde Park. And...every time I ordered from it, I was disappointed. Everything seemed overpriced for the quality. Nothing bad, but nothing particularly good (i.e. worth $10+ for an entree). But, the wife really loves it. Plus, I have heard others rave about their "specialty" pizzas, which I never tried.

    Gross. I had to throw out (and spit out) the calabrese focaccia after one bite. It just tasted like greasy salt. Their chicken wings were ok, but their "hot and spicy" sauce was really just tabasco sause, right out of the bottle. I won't be ordering from these guys again. This is an extra shame as they took over the storefront from what used to be a perfectly acceptable baba's steak and lemonade.

    I'm telling you, I love the deep dish butter crust! Toss in the sausage, shrooms, peppers.... mmm you may have one of the best pies in Chi-town. Bring it Reggio!!

  • Thai 55th Restaurant

    I got charged extra. There was a discrepency between this original online receipt and the handwritten receipt the driver presented me. Please be cautious of this and double check. Then I complained to Grubhub.com to address the problem. They called up Thai 55th and the people there gave the excuse that the extra charge was for rice. Now as I look at the menu, rice is stated to be 50cents. My extra charge was for $1. And cutlery and napkins were omitted. Clearly they wanted a opportunity to upcharge and so, that was a lie to cover up another lie. Be extremely cautious of their extra charges, and verify the receipt online with the handwritten receipt.

    I'd disagree with the previous reviewer pretty strongly. I have had good experiences with the Leona's on 53rd after probably a dozen or so dining experiences. It was always timely. And it was what you'd expect from Leona's: lots of tasty stuff that helps you bust your diet. No complaints from me.

    Absolutely delicious. I've only ordered once, but the filet mignon was much larger than I expected from the price, tender and spiced just right. The veggies were crisp and fresh-tasting. They use good ingredients and it's obvious they're not all cooked together because each thing had an individual spice, even with the combo platter. Just hope it's as good the next time.

    I LOVE Maravillas. Having recently moved out of Hyde Park, I have searched in vain for a Mexican restaurant that even comes close. But no dice. Their burritos are fantastic. So are their tacos, their taco salads. Everything. Well...maybe not so much the chips/salsa. They were always a little disappointing. If you are in their delivery area, and are looking for Mexican food, look no further! Also, dining in is a fairly pleasant experience, too. A nice, unassuming restaurant.
