Really rather average food, and the portion sizes for the price were less than satisfactory. Delivery time was also a problem, as was the guy who delivered it not wanting to walk up 3 flights of stairs because he wasn't sure where the apartment was. Here's a hint: you know the door that's buzzing so that you can get through it? it's that one. You can make better Indian food at home in the same amount of time.

Pros: Good food and generous portions, food arrived hot and well-packaged friendly drivers.
Cons: No utensils included, drivers do not carry alot of change. Use exact change for orders.

While eating at the restaurant is outstanding, delivery is horrible. After an hour and $35 we get this cold excuse for dinner and then have to spend another 20 minutes cooking rice, since it doesn't come with it.
The person answering the phone had no knowledge of our order and subsequently wouldn't call the delivery driver to find out where he was.
I can't think of another reason to deliver cold samosas unless you are not making them fresh.
Sure it saves you a trip to Devon, but it's no better than heating up a package of Indian food from the grocery store.

I wouldn't order from Essence again. The pieces of chicken in the chicken curries were huge...they should have been smaller. Even after asking for extra spicy, the items were bland.

Really good food. Very fast delivery. Portions on the small side, but it's inexpensive so no big deal. My only gripe is that they don't take credit cards. I will reorder. Try the Chicken Kurma.

I was seriously disappointed. The chicken in both dinners was slimy and my boyfriend and I both found bones, gristle, etc. As for the taste itself, the chicken makhni tasted more like Italian food than Indian. I definitely will not order from here again, we even threw away the leftovers.
