Pizza, Italian, Late NightDelivery is way too long. It took about an hour to receive 1 pizza and I only live 1/2 mile away. I requested a thin crust, and although what I received was pretty good, it isn't what they say it is. The sauce is way to thick, too much. The crust is just plain boring, and it is more of a medium, hand-tossed crust. If anyone knows of a super thin crust, almost wafer-thin pizza in chicago, please let me know.

Asian, Japanese, SushiI ordered food for take out - chicken teriyaki. It came with a lot of stuff, which was a pleasant surprise, but since I don't eat any seafood, I had to give away most of it to a friend. She didn't think the sushi, dumplings or spring rolls were anything special and said the wasabi had no flavor. The salad was good but had hardly any dressing. The soup and rice were fine. The chicken was ice cold (and seeing as it wasn't ready when I came to pick it up, I'm assuming it should have still be hot by the time I walked the 5 minutes to my office). Overall very disappointing, unfortunately, especially since the staff was so nice!

Sandwiches, ItalianOrder placed on 8.17.08.Until about two months ago, we ordered regularly from Al's. The food was fresh, arrived quickly, and my wife couldn't get enough of their peanut and chicken salad. Since then, things have gone steadily downhill. Where once they estimated delivery at an hour and usually beat that by a wide margin, now they estimate 90 minutes and rarely meet that estimate. Where once the food arrived fresh and hot, now it arrives cold and stale (mmm...cold, stale Italian beef). Worst of all, when they get behind (and lately they are always behind), Al's ignores your web order and, when called, their staff claims not to have received the web order. I imagine they can still hold it together if you dine in, but with web orders it's a roll of the dice against long odds. Al's is out of our delivery rotation.

Pizza, Italian, PastaOrder placed on 6.23.07.Sorry but not good...delivery took 2 hours, got order wrong and food was not even that great...maybe will be better for you but i will not be ordering from here again. Did i mention he did not even know how to get to my apt when he got in the car, driver called over an hour after placing the order to ask me for instructions.
