Pizza, Italian, American, Pasta, Ribs, Late Night, WingsOrder placed on 5.14.08.Way overpriced. Good pizza, but not worth nearly what I paid. Don't order if you have a buzzer system, the driver didn't understand mine, and then just left without calling. NEVER tip ahead of time, the service I got wasn't worth rounding out the buck.

Asian, Thai, NoodlesVERY TASTY Family owned Thai place with generous portions. If you ask they'll make it authentic Thai taste, that's with the spices NOT dulled down to American pallet. Unfortunately being family owned their delivery guy doesn't always show up, so call and ask if they're delivering today before you get your heart set on it. But seriously, if the guy has the sniffles he won't come in and they don't have a 2nd guy

Sandwiches, American, Chicken, Ribs, BBQDelivery is slow, and Sun Jul 13, was painfully slow. Called an hour after ordering, got the "it is going to be 10 mins", from a lady (don't remember her name, but it was at 8:03. Called again at 8:30 got another 15 mins, only when I called at 8:50 did I get a man who admitted that they had screwed up my order and I would get it in an hour that is 9 pm. I had twisted my ankle, and was in pain, otherwise I really should have just cancelled the order and gone somewhere else. Got a credit for the amt of food (not delivery, tax, tip, etc). After the credit, I doubt I am going back, service is dropping.

Asian, Chinese, NoodlesWe've tried several Chinese delivery places in Evanston, and so far Phoenix Inn easily rises to the top in terms of quality and taste. We're vegetarian, which perhaps limits the usefulness of this review, but we were impressed with all of the dishes we've tried so far. Their fried rice, in particular, stands out for its smokey flavor and sparing use of oil. It's one of the best fried rices we've had at either delivery or upscale Chinese restaurants. The persons taking the order often have trouble understanding you (and viceversa) but the delivery persons have invariably been courteous and on time.

Asian, Thai, NoodlesI have ordered a couple of the appitizers and I like the Pad Si Eew. It is my favorite. It is always very good and the appitizers are awesome. I get carry out as well as go in and eat. The service is very nice as well. I do recommend this place.

Sandwiches, MexicanOrder placed on 8.19.08.I'VE ORDERED FROM THIS PLACE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE, AND IT WAS GREAT. I WOULD USUALLY GIVE THEM 4 OR FIVE STARS. LAST NIGHT - NOT SO MUCH. I ORDERED A DINNER COMBO, WHICH WAS VERY GOOD, BUT THE TACO SALAD THAT I ORDERED WAS, WELL NOTHING. FIRST OF ALL, THE SHELL WAS NOT CRISP. IT WAS LIKE IT HAD SOAKED OVERNIGHT IN WATER. IT WAS VERY GREASY AND LIMP. IT USUALLY IS VERY CRISP. BUT THAT WASN'T THE WORST OF IT. IN THE WATER SOAKED SHELL CONTAINED THE GROUND BEEF AND NOTHING ELSE. NO LETTUCE, NO TOMATOES, NO SOUR CREAM OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT USUALLY GOES IN A TACO SALAD. I WAS GOING TO CALL THEM AND COMPLAIN AND ASK THEM TO BRING ME A DECENT SALAD, BUT I DECIDED TO USE THE GROUND BEEF IN A RECIPE THAT I'M GOING TO TRY. SINCE I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH MY FOOD IN THE PAST WITH THEM, I'LL PROBABLY GIVE THEM ANOTHER TRY, HOPING THIS WAS A ONE TIME THING.

American, GreekOrder placed on 6.8.08.These guys do a really incredible chopped salad that is to die for. Their gyros is tasty and huge. The Spanikopita is of the single pie variety rather than the slice from a pan type, so less flaky but still very tasty. Their hot dogs and burgers and such are also very good. A friend of mine who I sent there said their NY dogs w/hot sourkraut made him nostalgic for brooklyn they were so good. They also have an amazing bufallo chicken sandwich. And they do a kicking French toast. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful AND they deliver!!! I love these guys!

Asian, Chinese, CantoneseIf you've ever been to a mall in taiwan and had really really cheap chinese there -- made with cheap grissly cuts of meat -- this is rather like that. Joy yee noodles in Evanston is almost exactly the same type of food. Think: its to chinese food what macD's is to a really good burger. Is it authentic, yes... but...

American, Grill, GreekOrder placed on 3.21.08.Never gone to them for catering, just my normal dinner delivery. When it come to that.... Mediocre fast food. If your going to them for Greek food than expect servings that are 1/2 the size you'd expect for the price you're paying which if you'd been served it in Greek town you'd return it, i.e., greasy and not very tasty. For burgers and stuff like that however, they're fine.

Asian, Japanese, SushiI've lived in Japan, I know my sushi. This sushi is fairly tasty (its fresh, etc) but the pieces are so ridiculously small that two of theirs equals one of someone else's. In regards to sushi delivery in Evanston area they're the best in terms of freshness and taste, but ridiculously expensive in terms of prices and portion size. In terms of walk in (the guys I'm about to suggest do NOT deliver I'm afraid) the best sushi in Evanston is Sea Ranch on Dempster, which isn't even really a restaurant -- its a Japanese fish market with a little stall on the side that sells sushi.
