Furama Restaurant

Order placed on 11.17.09.
Really good entrees, but the portions were RIDICULOUSLY small. Also, the crab rangoon was disappointing, and that's a deal breaker for me.

About what you'd expect from fast food noodle shop. Nothing exceptional; but you won't gag.

Lee's Chop Suey
Asian, Chinese, Cantonese
Order placed on 9.8.09.
Lee's is fast and among all the possible Chinese choices, in my opinion, is the best (I would estimate that I have tried 15 different places). One negative for me is that I don't care much for their sesame chicken, which when done right, is a personal favorite. I cannot recall another dish though that I was disappointed in. If you want Chinese food and you're not in the mood to roll the dice, choose Lee's.

Simon Lin's Asian Bistro
Asian, Chinese, Sandwiches, Healthy, Thai, Salads, Japanese, Sushi, Chicken, Vegetarian, Mandarin, Noodles, Szechwan, Cantonese, Low Fat, Low Carb, Lunch Specials, Kids Menu
Order placed on 10.6.09.
Great sushi with a wide selection of cuisine. This is the perfect location to enjoy Sushi, while my less adventurous friends can enjoy a wide selection of beef and chicken entrees. Some items of note: Black Spider Rolls are a sweetened twist on one of my favorites. For beef lovers, the Kobe Beef Burger is juicy, filling, and sadly only available for lunch. Something truly unique, the Kim Che Beef Roll, torch cooked tenderloin, served like a sushi roll over some interesting spices.
On location dining service is fair to excellent with a well stocked and reasonably priced bar and wine list, including some interesting sake and wasabi infused cocktails.
Delivery times can very, depending on your order, but I've always received my order hot and before the GrubHub estimated time.

Young's Chinese
Asian, Chinese, Mandarin, Szechwan, Cantonese, Lunch Specials
Order placed on 7.23.09.
Best Chinese on the North Side. Really exceptional are the seafood dishes, like the Steamed Sole, but everything I've tried on their menu is delish. If you're a Crab Rangoon person, Young's is excellent and their soups are fantastic as well.
We usually get take out or delivery, but the restaurant is very comfortable and the waitstaff attentive.

Mr. Ging Chop Suey
Asian, Chinese, Mandarin, Cantonese
Order placed on 11.20.09.
One of the better asian delivery joints I've had in Chicago. Both the large and small portions were a substantial amount of food for the money. They do a nice job paying attention to special requests as I always ask for my Kung Po to be extra spicy. Hot 'n sour soup was good and spicy too although I prefer a meatless hot 'n sour.
We order from Mr. Ging's all the time!

I order from this place once or twice a month, and have never had anything BAD. Its nothing different than most Chinese delivery places. Food is always hot and fresh. Very friendly. My favorite is the steamed dumplings.

Hunan Egg Roll King
Asian, Chinese, Cantonese
While the delivery arrived fairly rapidly, the food was substandard. The eggrolls were limp and tasteless and the pineapple chicken was nothing more than chicken mcnuggets with a bland sauce. The wonton soup also was watery and flavorless. Overall, I will not order from them and do not recommend them.

China Hut

Order placed on 12.30.07.
This place was great.
Not only was the food early and hot and correct, but the delivery person was nice and had a free calendar.
We asked for some modifications to what we ordered, and they didn't call freaking out or saying no, like most places here. Best Grub Hub experience so far, and the food was really tasty.

Emperor Wok
Asian, Japanese, Mandarin, Noodles, Cantonese
I agree with the rest of you. In a town as big as Chicago, there aren't that many amazing Chinese food choices for some reason. I'd have to say these guys are at the top of the list for me. I also really like Friendship Chinese, but they don't have hot mustard! I need the hot mustard for my happy eggrolls, and therefore Emperor Wok wins for me!
Besides, they are as nice as everyone says. Good people, great food. Cha Ching!

Panda Panda Chinese Restaurant
Asian, Chinese, Szechwan, Cantonese
The food is sketchy, greasy, and without flavor. The honey chicken is basically sweet and sour without the pineapple. The spicy sesame was made from some part of the chicken, but it definetely wasn't the breast! I enjoy the dark chicken meat, but had to throw this out.
But the delivery was fast...so I guess they got that going for 'em...

Eng's Asian Cuisine
Asian, Chinese, Cantonese
If you've ever been to a mall in taiwan and had really really cheap chinese there -- made with cheap grissly cuts of meat -- this is rather like that. Joy yee noodles in Evanston is almost exactly the same type of food. Think: its to chinese food what macD's is to a really good burger. Is it authentic, yes... but...

Noodles Etc.
Asian, Healthy, Thai, Vegetarian, Cantonese
Noodles Etc. has really great pan-Asian food. When I lived in Hyde Park, I ordered from here frequently. I always enjoyed the Pancit and my wife really loved the Pad Woon Sen. We were pretty loyal to these, but every time we did explore, we were very satisfied. Good fried rice, too.

Hong Kong Chef
Asian, Chinese, Mandarin, Cantonese
I'd walked by this place at least a hundred times, and yet had never ordered from them. I was almost certain there wasn't any decent Chinese in the neighborhood, but WOW, they're food is fantastic and cheap too. I've paid twice as much at places like Chen's but nothing had ever impressed me like they did. They may not have the looks, but definitely got the cook.
Only thing I could say is that the Mongolian beef wasn't prepared like I've had it before, but once I tasted it I was sold. D Lish.
