The food is sketchy, greasy, and without flavor. The honey chicken is basically sweet and sour without the pineapple. The spicy sesame was made from some part of the chicken, but it definetely wasn't the breast! I enjoy the dark chicken meat, but had to throw this out. But the delivery was fast...so I guess they got that going for 'em...

What isn't bland, is terrible. The Fried Rice? Bland. The Egg Rolls? Blegh. The Pot Stickers? Bland. The Crab Rangoon? What Crab? It's all cream cheese. The Egg Drop soup is okay, I suppose. If you like something that barely resembles what it's supposed to taste like. Their 'New Style Mongolian Beef' tasted terrible. It was like they covered the beef in cinnamon and nutmeg. Same thing with their egg rolls. Just cinnamon and cabbage.

I agree with Ro-I ordered because of the good reviews and found the food to be lacking. The eggrolls are bland and 'thick". It's a lot of tasteless fried wrapping. The dumplings were also bland in comparison to other restaurants. As to main dishes I found the sauces to be thick and gloppy which is a great way to ruin an appetite. The vegetables didn't taste fresh and even in completely different dishes managed to taste the same. I will say this however. Delivery was fast and very friendly. They provided a lot of condiments which I think other restaurants neglect. Finally, out of everything I ordered I have to say the crab rangoon was great. It doesn't hold well for reheating but it was the best part of the meal when it arrived.

I'd walked by this place at least a hundred times, and yet had never ordered from them. I was almost certain there wasn't any decent Chinese in the neighborhood, but WOW, they're food is fantastic and cheap too. I've paid twice as much at places like Chen's but nothing had ever impressed me like they did. They may not have the looks, but definitely got the cook. Only thing I could say is that the Mongolian beef wasn't prepared like I've had it before, but once I tasted it I was sold. D Lish.

Miss Egg Roll

EXCELLENT! Had three people and we shared three lunch specials: sweet & sour chicken, kung pao chicken and the number 15 which is like a Chinese Omelet on a bed of rice. All were very tasty and you get a lot for your money. The sweet and sour chicken was notable for the amount of pineapple, onions, green and red peppers thye provide - a nice change from the average restaurant which gives you three pineapple pieces and nothing else with your meal. The Kung Pao chicken was hot, but not too hot and was absolutely delicious. The egg rolls are more like spring rolls, but large and very tasty. All in all, this is an above average Chinese restaurant that will not disappoint. Delivery was quick and professional, in under 30 minutes. Definitely on my list of faves!

Great food at the right prices. Their sauces always taste fresh and have a little extra zing (not spicy, just yummy, although I always ask for spicey and they're happy to oblige). Best cold sesame noodle salad in Lakeview.

So..... I am still waiting for my food, I ordered my dinner an hour and 45 minutes ago.... I hope the food is as good as the reviews claim cause so far the delivery sucks.

The food at Silver Seafood is outstanding, and it has been rated as one of Chicago's best Chinese restauarants. As a takeout place, although I have found the food to always be excellent, the delivery can be inconsistent. One time I was given a 45 minute delivery time and the food didn't arrive until over an hour and a half later. The most recent delivery experience was a good one with again a 45 minute promise, but the food arrived within 1/2 an hour. Some of my favorites are the chicken sweet corn soup, and the pineapple seafood combination rice. I have never encountered any of the language problems mentioned below. Overall, because you're getting the best Chinese food there is on the north side, I am willing to tolerate sometimes inconsistent service and highly recommend them.

New Peking Restaurant

My food arrived in about 30 minutes. The deliveryman was polite. The curry chicken was really good. The orange beef came with the orange sauce on the side. I got regular coke instead of diet coke but I would order from New Peking again.
